Please Vote for Me!
Pisaster ochraceous says "Kevin Z has the support of Phylum Echinodermata!" (Photo from the Cabrillo Marine Aqaurium). I am running neck to neck with my contender in the BPR3 icon contest. The contest runs till this Monday, so please vote for me below (vote here if you are having any trouble)! In addition to fame and blogosphere-wide recognition, I can win some sweet science swag from SEED, Nature, PLoS and BioMed Central!
To make the pot sweeter, I will write an individually-crafted spineless song for every person who leaves a comment here saying they voted for me. Don't forget to mention what bad-ass backboneless brutha you want the song to be about!
I voted for you. I'm partial to Strongylocentrotus droebachiensis
ReplyDeleteI too voted for you. I'm partial to Kevvy Z. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLinda - 1st you imply that he can't take care of your kids, now you imply he's spineless. What's next? Criticizing his sense of fashion?
ReplyDelete:) (a smile = sarcasm)
Kevmo,
ReplyDeleteYour icon is the only informative icon, and clearly superior, even exlcluding my bias to those who write so elequantly on our squishy breathren. I would love to hear an ode to the beauty of annelids, including their beautiful spiral cleavage and segmented body plan. I personally am fond of the marine polychaete Platynereis dumerilii, if you'd like a suggestion.

ReplyDeleteI implied that he can't breastfeed, but let me know when you oh so smart macho scientists figure that one out so we can share the wonderful task of sustaining a newly spined baby
ReplyDelete;) (a wink = returning the favor of a sarcasm)
Sense of fashion..hehe..good one.
Really, Linda, I don't think anyone wants to see any of us males breastfeeding anything.
ReplyDeleteKevin - perhaps you need to look at this?
