Let It Be Known...

... that today, November 11th 2007, my nearly 2-year old son uttered the following words from mouth: "Octopus". Well it sounded more like "ockpoos". I am so proud. His first invertebrate was "fly" (meant for butterfly and fly), followed by "snail" and "shell". I think it is about time we start working on latin names.

    Excellent! Grooming him as invertebrate biologist from an early age are we? Much better than a future olympic athlete

    as for teaching Latin names, I don't see why not - kids learn them all the time rather easily. Like Tyranosaurus and Tricerotops. Why can't they learn Strongylocentrotus or Architeuthis just as easily?
