Happy International Cephalopod Awareness Day!

This is the 1st International Cephalopod Awareness Day, organized by none other than Jason of the Cephalopodcast blog. Keep posted at that website for a running list of Cephalopod Awareness posts during the day. It is bound to be a Squidtastic day for all! It is today (10/8) for what I hope are obvious reasons. If not so obvious... squid are 10-tentacled and octopus are 8-tentacled. These are beautiful and fascinating creatures that are deserving of their own day. Not only are the behavioural and physiologically complex, but they taste great too!

I will be posting random factoids and miscellania today to increase Cephalopod Awareness. A much needed issue in today's world. To get you started take a peak at several my past cephalod posts:

  1. HEY, THE INTERNATIONAL CEPHALOPOD AWARENESS DAY FALLS ON THE INTERNATIONAL CAPSLOCK WEEK (2-9 OF OCT). I'M SURE IT'S A CEPHALOPOD SCHEME TO GET EVERYONE TO SHOUT THEIR AGENDA.

  2. I've also been informed that this is Squirrel Awareness Week as well. IT'S JUST A COINCIDENCE. HONEST!

BTW, next year's ICAD will be extra special, seeing as it will be on 08-10-08.
