Need New Quotes

You might notice I've had some quotes up there under the ole banner for quite some time. Me thinks it's time for some new ones. Although I really like the Huxley quote, that might stay. Anyone have any favorite spineless quotations? Enter them into the comments!

4 comments:

  1. "It may be doubted whether there are many other animals which have played so important a part in the history of the world as these lowly organised creatures."

    CHARLES DARWIN ON EARTHWORMS, 1881

  2. From a trip to Mexico in '06, after finding a monstrous giant beetle:

Glenn: I’m an entomology god! That’ the biggest f'in’ thing I’ve ever seen!
Ben: Glenn, I have to admit, I have beetle envy.

Well, that one is probably not suitable for the banner, but it's my favorite spineless quote :)

  3. It's not very original, since it's in the intro of Brusca and Brusca, but

"For a gentleman should know something of invertebrate zoology, call it culture or what you will, just as he ought to know something about painting and music and the weeds in his garden."

    Martin Wells, Lower Animals, 1968

  4. "Better call on evolution, better way to make a revolution "
From the song Evolution by Cat Power.
    One of my personal favorites.
